2022 fundraiser wrap up

Our 2022 fundraiser was another success with the community raising $25,025 to buy Lego for kids in need! Our coordinators from around the world purchased and donated brand new Lego sets in 14 locations in the USA, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Austria, Hungary, and Switzerland. As usual, the sets were donated to a variety of organizations including shelters, schools for children with special needs, libraries, children's hospitals and hospices, and other organizations providing social services. It's amazing to hear about all the places that help kids in so many ways, and I encourage you to read the blog posts from our coordinators to see where our donations went.

We had some spectacular highlights from the fundraiser. If you've been visiting our store for the past few years, you probably noticed that this year we nearly doubled the number of MOCs for sale. This is thanks to our inaugural social media coordinator, Remco Rohaan, who tirelessly helped promote our cause and encouraged many builders to donate a creation. On my own, I'd have been swamped with listing so many new builds to the store, but thankfully my old friend Ethan Fang returned this year to help out with the store. We also received our biggest MOC donation in our 14 year history, which came from Isaiah Durand in the form of a massive 4'3" pirate ship that sold for $9,000. It is now on display at the Museu da Imaginação in São Paulo, Brazil (check back later as we share a special story of Isaiah's donation). Finally, we all had fun again on the 24-live stream hosted by Joshua Hanlon from Beyond the Brick and along with Andres Lehmann from Zusammengebaut. As usual, fans and builders from around the world joined the stream to build, talk about Lego, and partake in some shenanigans, all in all raising over $11,000 for our fundraiser.

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who participated in Creations for Charity. It is a privilege and honor to coordinate this annual fundraiser that touches the lives of so many children each year. I'm fortunate to be a part of the creative and generous Lego community. We look forward to seeing you back in October for the 2023 fundraiser!
