Christmas Joy Down Under

Once again I was in the privileged position to donate LEGO to needy children in Australia for 2023! This is my 9th year in a row helping out this amazing charity group!

This year we had over 100 sets to donate thanks to the marvellous donation from Creations for Charity and our local fundraising efforts!

We were lucky to score a 20% off sale which stretched our donation further! Lots of variety to make LEGO dreams come true for all ages and abilities.

We decided to share the love around. Graham (Co-founder of GongLUG) and my son Ethan (TFOL) donated a pile of LEGO (and other toys) to the Shellharbour Mayoress Giving Tree. Ensuring LEGO sets will be put into the hands of kids who have struggled this year through financial troubles.

The majority of our Creations for Charity purchased sets however went to The Wollongong Hospital Children's Ward and the Paediatric Emergency Department. With over 70 sets donated, it will surely help make a trying time for those children who are sick and injured over the festive period a little more enjoyable!

Graham and I dropped our bounty of sets off last Sunday to a thankfully quiet Children's ward. Julie, the ward manager rang me first thing Monday to express how thankful they were to receive such a thoughtful donation. Julie feels the LEGO sets will bring joy to an otherwise trying time for young ones, be it through misadventures or illness.

Once again I wish to extend my thanks to Nannan and the gang from Creations for Charity as well as all the AFOL's out there who donate builds or money towards the fundraising efforts! What an inspiring global team effort.

Merry Christmas to you all and thanks for spreading the love of LEGO worldwide!

Bring on an even bigger 2024
