Do you want to build a snowman ...

Not out of snow as it is too cold out side but if you want to make one out of LEGO, sure. We are excited to be back for our 4th year with Creations for Charity!

This year we returned to the rural areas of friendly Manitoba and focused more on public daycares who historically struggle to find funding for new toys. It took awhile to find ones who wanted new LEGO but the ones we did were ecstatic to receive some. We brought them all to our boardroom and repeated the set draft we had last year since it was so much fun. We managed to take the 1500 USD and turn it into 2025 CDN funds. We then were lucky enough to get 250 from our group and stole $725 from my wife's 50th birthday party fund. With $3000 in hand, we managed to purchase $4000 in sets. It was harder this year as there seems to be less sales around. It doesn't really look like a lot but there is 121 sets on that table.

The amazing LEGO haul

This year, we had representation from 3 rural day cares and our donation to our local children's hospital as always. We had representation from Morden, Altona, Pilot Mound daycares and we chose on behalf of our Billy Martens, who looks after MBLUG's donations to the Manitoba Children's' Hospital.

Not posting the whole video but you can see they had fun and struggled at times to figure out what they wanted to take. It is intriguing that it always isn't the most expensive sets that interests them as they are always looking for specific things. Seems the most popular items amongst kids is wheels, animals and mini figures/ friends dolls. Everyone had a lot of fun and in the end were all very happy and very appreciative of the LEGO provided to them through Creations for Charity.

Thanks to all who work so hard to make this event possible, these donations are very much appreciated by the originations that receive them and we enjoy very much being able to reach out to them.

Oh, and don't worry about Melinda's loss of her funds for her 50th birthday, she isn't much of a party person and refused to allow me to spend any money advertising of her achieving this milestone.
