Giving the Gift of LEGO to Children in the Philippines: My Experience with Creations for Charity

This year, I had the privilege of joining Creations for Charity and helped distribute LEGO sets to children in the Philippines. In the Philippines, LEGO sets are often seen as a luxury. Many families simply can’t afford them, leaving a lot of children without the opportunity to experience the joy of building, imagining, and creating with LEGO bricks. This is why I was so excited when I found out that Creations for Charity was including the Philippines as a recipient of LEGO donations this year.

I decided to give LEGO sets to children in various communities, particularly in the Gawad Kalinga village in Los Baños, Laguna. My family and friends also contributed by providing food and groceries to these underprivileged families.

One of the most special parts of this experience was involving my own kids, who are big LEGO fans. They helped hand out the LEGO sets directly to the children, and it was heartwarming to see the excitement on the kids' faces. I chose to donate to regular families, not orphanages, as these children might never receive a LEGO set otherwise due to the high cost.

I’m grateful to Nannan and the entire Creations for Charity community for their ongoing efforts, and I look forward to participating again next year to continue sharing the joy of building with kids in the Philippines.
